# clsClaimTask

`clsClaimTask` binds a workflow task to a claim, sourcing human-readable claim attributes either from `clsClaimData` (single-object retrieval) or the `PK82284_CLAIM_TASK.SELECT_ADDITIONAL_FIELDS` stored procedure (bulk/list retrieval), and enforces claim-task-specific business rules such as assignee AD access, text requirements, and due-date limits.

## Purpose
- Owns the claim-task creation, load-enrichment, and completion lifecycle ([Create a claim task](../../operations/op-1-create-claim-task.md), [Enrich a loaded claim task](../../operations/op-3-enrich-loaded-claim-task.md), [Complete a task](../../operations/op-11-complete-task.md)).
- Enforces assignee-access and claim-validity rules before allowing a mailid or claim number change ([BR-CT-01](../../business-rules.md#br-ct-01-claim-task-must-reference-a-resolvable-claim), [BR-CT-03](../../business-rules.md#br-ct-03a-assignee-validation-exemptions), [BR-CT-06](../../business-rules.md#br-ct-06-external-rtw-user-must-be-assigned-to-the-claim)).
- Sanitizes and length-limits task text on assignment ([BR-CT-04](../../business-rules.md#br-ct-04-task-text-is-required), [BR-CT-05](../../business-rules.md#br-ct-05-task-text-length-limit), [BR-CT-08](../../business-rules.md#br-ct-08-task-text-is-sanitized-on-assignment)).

## Behavioral notes
- `<Reportable()>` is applied to `MailID`, `ClaimNum`, `PriorityTask`, `PolicyName`, `PolicyNumber`, `SAIFClaimNum`, `Text`, `WorkerName`, `WorkStatus`, exposing them to the framework reporting/binding surface.*
- Confidentiality flags delegate to `clsClaimData` when loaded and are consumed by `clsMyTaskCollection`'s redaction logic ([BR-MY-01](../../business-rules.md#br-my-01-confidential-worker-name-redaction)).

## Constraints and usage notes
- `mailidNeedsValidation` gates whether `CheckRules("TaskUser")` re-runs on `MailID` assignment; it is cleared on a fresh list-path load ([Enrich a loaded claim task](../../operations/op-3-enrich-loaded-claim-task.md)).
- All business types in this library are `<Serializable()>`, consistent with remoting/session persistence of BOF objects across the web tier.*
